HOUSTON RADIO SHOW CALL IN

9/25/04

On September 24th Jerry called in to a Houston Texas radio station KHMX for a chat with the morning show DJs. Although he avoided answering or acknowledging any questions about Rebecca Romijn, he did talk a bit about his 'adult' role on Crossing Jordan. He also spoke about an upcoming Perry Ellis fashion show he'll be doing which takes place in Houston later in October (Oct 28th). When asked if he'd be bringing a significant other with him to the event, he told the DJ's he'd be bringing his father and made a joke about making his 'old man' carry his bags. Jerry also spoke a bit about the television show "Inside the Actors Studio". He said he'd like to be on the show, but would probably end up being an audience member asking all the questions.

INTERVIEW AT TVGUIDE.COM

9/25/04

This interview with Jerry was posted at TVGuide.com:

Crossing Jordan Cop Grows Up
by Daniel R. Coleridge

Remember when Jerry O'Connell played the chubby kid in Stand by Me or the teen superhero on TV's My Secret Identity? He was also a boy genius in the sci-fi series Sliders and a young football stud in Jerry Maguire. Most recently, NBC's Crossing Jordan — whose fourth season begins Sunday at 10 pm/ET — promoted him to series regular after a few years as recurring character Det. Woody Hoyt. And he's psyched!

"That's exciting because while I've been part of the show in the past, I'm there every day now for the long haul," O'Connell tells TV Guide Online. "To be honest, it's the most mature role I could get out there right now. Nobody in movies is gonna let me play a cop."

Why not? "Because I was in Kangaroo Jack," he sheepishly admits, "and I'm just too young. They wanna put me in Spy Kids 4 and stuff, you know? Going from being a kid actor to adulthood is difficult."

On the bright side, O'Connell never had any shortage of work offers before he recently committed to do two seasons on Crossing Jordan. "I have a lot of choices in TV," he says. "CSI: NY was a choice for me — not to play the Gary Sinise role, but the guy under him. That's the only recent offer I took seriously. But they wanted me to sign [a long-term contract] and I thought, 'Do I want to be holding fibers and hairs for seven years?'

"As an actor on Crossing Jordan, I have a character who can goof around and make jokes," he adds happily. "I hardly ever say a word that's written for me by the writers. I play a fun, young cop. It's so much more fun than CSI would be. I'm not frowning upon it, it's just not what I wanna do. I gotta talk a little more than they do!"

US MAGAZINE MENTION

9/14/04

The September 13th issue of US Weekly has a brief Jerry and Rebecca mention on Page 64:

Rebecca & Jerry Heat Up!

Who's heartbroken? Just two days after her estranged husband, John Stamos, 41, filed for divorce (they separated in April), Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, 31, spent August 21 showing off her new man, Jerry O'Connell, 30, all around New York City. In the afternoon, the twosome ducked into Pastis to escape a sudden downpour, then lunched in a cozy corner. "She kept caressing his face and arm," says an eyewitness. That night, O'Connell treated his new love to Japanese food at up-and-coming hot spot Megu. "They were laughing and being flirtatious," says a fellow diner. "At one point, they were full-on kissing!"
