11/30/03

Jerry and girlfriend Giuliana DePandi have been photographed at a few media and charity events over the past few weeks. On November 13th they attended the "Shoot for the Stars" charity auction to benefit The Make-A-Wish Foundation in West Hollywood, California. On November 23rd they were seen at the 11th Annual Diversity Awards held in the Beverly Hills Hotel. Photos from these events can be seen at wireimage.com and entertainment.myway.com.

JASON BATEMAN VS JERRY O'CONNELL

Jerry has occasionally told the story of being mistaken for Jason Bateman. An article at Fame Tracker compares the two actors in a most unflattering way.

HALLIWELL'S EX BACK WITH FIANCEE

GERI HALLIWELL's ex-boyfriend JERRY O'CONNELL is reunited with his former
fiancee GIULIANA DePANDI - just weeks after his split from the former SPICE GIRL.

O'Connell and Halliwell dated very briefly after meeting on the set of their upcoming movie FAT SLAGS, which shocked fans as it was never officially announced that the actor had parted ways with E! NEWS LIVE presenter DePandi.

But since Halliwell's romance with O'Connell cooled, the KANGAROO JACK star is stepping back out with his Los Angeles-based belle. The pair arrived at the recent RICHARD TYLER fashion show in Los Angeles wearing matching silver matching bracelets engraved with their names and the date they met - 15 January 2003. The actor says, "These bracelets were my idea."

MORE ON JILL'S RETURN TO "CROSSING JORDAN"

11/10/03

Although In Touch magazine reported that some Crossing Jordan crew members were 'miffed' about the show's hiatus, apparently there are other cast and crew members who are much more understanding of the situation. According to someone who knows a friend of Jill Hennessy's family, several cast and crew members called Jill to see how she was doing and to find out what was going on. After speaking with Jill they apparently "understood and stand fully behind her... though she finally did agree to come back early much against her better judgment." The inside source also says, "The agreement was ALWAYS for her to go back in January," and they believe the network may be behind the negative spin.

From goodgirl: What? What's the word on Crossing Jordan?!
The word is sad. An insider told me the show was supposed to start shooting again today, but on Friday, producers told the cast and crew that Jill Hennessy decided at the last minute to extend her maternity leave by four months. There's no official word yet on what's going happen to the show, but the insider says the crewmembers were told to look for new jobs. Not a good sign. Looks like Crossing Jordan may be crossing over--somebody call John Edwards.

From copssister: Toodles to Crossing Jordan?
Like I said, there's no official word, but I'm guessing this is probably is the end. They did shoot six episodes before the hiatus, but I hear they're not ready for air...so, if we do see them, it might not be for a while. Chances are this is why NBC has decided to fill the Monday slot at 10 p.m. with Average Joe. (Third Watch is moving into Boomtown's old slot on Fridays at 10 p.m.)

THE LATEST ON "CROSSING JORDAN"

11/3/03

Apparently the production of NBC's "Crossing Jordan" is still on hiatus. However, this should not prolong the January season premiere as 6 new episodes were already shot in the spring.

According to a recent blurb in In Touch Magazine there is still hope for a spin-off with Jerry O'Connell (Unless In Touch Magazine is rehashing old outdated news. Although the Sunset Division pilot did air last spring, the series was not picked up for the fall season). Here is the report from the November 10th issue of In Touch:

No More Crossing Jordan?

Some of the crew of Crossing Jordan are miffed at star Jill Hennessy. Jill had a baby in October, and was s due to return to work, but now wants to extend her leave for another four months. "That could kill the show," says a set insider. The network might create a spinoff for Jerry O'Connell.

This report on the status of NBC's Crossing Jordan was taken from Zap2it.com:

'Crossing Jordan' Extends Production Hiatus
(Friday, October 24 08:36 AM)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) The cast and crew of NBC's "Crossing Jordan" will wait a while longer to return to work.
Production on the show's third season was scheduled to begin this week, but star Jill Hennessy asked the network and NBC Studios, which produces the series, for some more time to spend with her newborn child. Work on the show will probably start up again in January.

NBC, however, doesn't anticipate the change will affect "Jordan's" return to the airwaves. "As we announced in May, 'Crossing Jordan' will return to NBC's schedule in January," a network spokesman tells The Hollywood Reporter.

The network decided to hold the show back for midseason to accommodate Hennessy's pregnancy. Writing a pregnancy for her character, Jordan Cavanaugh, into the show wouldn't have made much sense, and as Hennessy is in nearly every scene, shooting around it would have caused a big logistical headache.

Six episodes of the new season were shot this spring, before Hennessy began her leave.
